Difference between terrace & balcony:

Terrace(definition): A platform extending outdoors from a floor of a house or an apartment building.
從一座房子或公寓式建築延伸出室外的平臺。

Balcony(definition): A platform that projects from the wall of a building and is surrounded by a railing, balustrade, or parapet.
從樓房的牆上伸出被欄杆、扶手或護牆圍繞的平臺。
